The inspiration for our brand was a true pioneer and one of the first female landowners in California. Maria Rita Valdez was the granddaughter of Luis and Maria Quintero, two of the original settlers of Pueblo de Los Angeles. In 1838 Maria was granted 4,539 acres that became her home, the cattle ranch known as El Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas, meaning “The Ranch of the Gathering Waters.” In the mid 20th Century, El Rancho was developed into what is now Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive.
The concept of terroir, the unique qualities of a place, serves as our founding principle. Rodeo de las Aguas Tequila honors tradition, an artisanal approach, that reflects a deep connection to the natural essence of the mineral-rich red soil of the Southern Los Altos de Jalisco highlands. The results, tequila that is uniquely authentic, additive-free, and defined by purity, complexity, and exceptional finishes.
We celebrate the rich heritage of tequila and especially the people, from the skilled jimadores who carefully tend the agave to the artisans who craft our premium sipping tequila. We respect the land by using only the purest natural ingredients and supporting sustainable farming practices, a tribute to the vibrant culture and hardworking individuals who make tequila everything it is today.
